Give A Day Get A Disney Day—Join the VCCV in
Offering A Day at Disney Free to Volunteers

Join HandsOn Network as we celebrate the spirit and power of volunteerism and engage more people in volunteer service!  At a time marked by economic strain and hardship, individuals and families who give their time to help improve communities are being celebrated and offered a free one-day ticket to a Disney theme park through the new “Give A Day, Get A Disney Day.” program. The goal is to engage one million volunteers in service this year.

Those in Canada, Puerto Rico or the United States who volunteer their time in service to a participating organization beginning on Jan. 1, 2010, will receive a free one-day admission ticket to a Disney theme park at either Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., or Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif.

HandsOn Network is the activator for this program with more than 250 HandsOn Actions Centers across the country in addition to 70,000 community-based partners such as food banks, homeless shelters, schools and faith-based organizations. The Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley is a participating HandsOn Network Affiliate.

Many non-profit and community partners will be able to participate in the program through partnerships with a HandsOn Action Center and by registering for the program at http://vop.handsonnetwork.org. Participating in this program is a special way to help people recognize their individual and collective power to create change through volunteering, and celebrate the everyday heroes who serve. It also provides an opportunity for partner organizations to honor those individuals and families who help fulfill their organizational missions—and to attract new volunteers who want to engage.

As our nation is recognizing volunteerism as a pathway to solving some of our most pressing issues, HandsOn Network invites you to participate in the “Give A Day, Get A Disney Day.” program which truly celebrates our vision of service.

Who can sign up the most non-profit partners in the VOP by Dec 7?
For affiliates: We will give three separate packages for one trip to the National Conference on Volunteering and Service that include: Air fare, conference registration and a three-night stay in a hotel. We are giving away one package for each membership level for the affiliate who recruits the greatest number of nonprofit organizations into the Volunteer Opportunity Portal by December 7.

For Non-Profit Partners: All non-profit partners that register on the VOP will be entered into a random drawing for three separate packages for one trip to Disney World that includes air fare, a three-night stay in a hotel and a one-day pass to Disney.
